Blickling Half Marathon
Big C is pleased to announce that our amazing fundraisers have raised a combined total of over £3.5k by taking part in the Blickling Half Marathon.
The event took place in warm conditions on Bank Holiday Monday, 31st May, as around 500 runners completed a 13.1 mile route around Aylsham and Blickling. The event was organised by Exercising People In Communities Norfolk (EPIC Norfolk), which is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to get communities more active.
Big C had several runners take part in the event, including a team of four from the Norwich branch of Leaders Estate Agents. Branch Manager, Jake Cathercole said: “It has been a great experience for the team working with Big C, easy to work with and really rewarding to raise any money to contribute to all the great work they do for the local community. We will be aiming to get involved in another fundraising event very soon.”
A big thank you as well goes to the Big C volunteers who helped marshal the route; this type of role is crucial to the success of our fundraising events.
Steven Hitcham, Director of EPIC Norfolk said: “Putting on positive events like this for the local community is so important to us, especially during the current time, so thank you to everyone who took part and made the event such a success. We also want to say a massive thank you to the volunteers who were fantastic, we could not have put the event on without their help.
