Homersfield Lake makes generous donation to Big C

Big C were delighted to receive a very generous donation of £1,125 from Homersfield Lake this week.

Homersfield Lake is a private membership fishing lake situated in the picturesque Suffolk village of Homersfield. The 35-acre lake is set in 70 acres of  landscaped grounds and is considered one of the most prolific fisheries in the UK.

Martin Symonds, owner of the business explained: “Normally our membership runs from 1st March until the following year in February. As we all know 2020 and the beginning of 2021 has been very hard for so many people and many places closed due to the restrictions from the coronavirus pandemic. So this year we decided to only start the membership from the 16th June, so that if lockdowns continued our members would not be paying for this period.”

As some restrictions were then lifted earlier members were asked to pay a minimal fee if they visited before June. Martin continues: “I was staggered to discover the total given during this period was £3,260, so as a family we decided to increase the total to £4,500 and split the amount between Big C, EAAA, Parkinson’s and The Suffolk Wildlife Trust”.

Big C would like to thank the Symonds family and all the members at Homersfield Lake for their generous support.
